Cake Balls

1. Mix vanilla cake mix with eggs, oil, and water according to the amounts specified on the cake mix box and bake as directed.
2. Once baked, put the cake in a mixing bowl along with powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Mix until a smooth cake dough forms. You may need to add a splash of milk, depending on how moist or dry your box cake is.
3. Form the cake mixture into balls. Halfway through forming the balls, mix a tablespoon of freeze-dried strawberry powder into the remaining cake dough.
4. Place the formed cake balls on a lined baking sheet and freeze for an hour. This step helps the balls stay together when dipping.
5. Melt the candy melts. Dip the plain cake balls into the melted candy one at a time. Repeat until approximately half of the cake balls are dipped.
6. Sift a tablespoon of freeze-dried strawberry powder into the remaining melted candy melts. Dip the strawberry-infused cake balls into this pink candy coating.
7. Let the cake balls set until the coating is solid, which typically takes about 10 minutes, before serving or storing.
